ROOTED IN IRISH LINEN
Irish linen has always felt like more than a tender echo of the past. It has woven its way through generations of Irish history, landscape and domestic life; spread across kitchen tables, folded carefully into drawers, stitched into Sunday dresses and household linens. It carries with it a profound sense of place.
A LIVING TRADITION
Its enduring character holds a strength beneath its softness and a quiet charm that deepens with time. For centuries, linen has occupied a particular place within Irish textile culture, recognisable for its distinctive texture, natural lustre and remarkable resilience.
IRISH LINEN SHAPED BY LANDSCAPE AND TIME.
BETWEEN PAST AND PRESENT
That sense of continuity is central to the way we work. Annie Leona sources only 100% Irish linen, working locally with cloth that feels intrinsically tied to the landscapes and stories that inspire each collection. The work is shaped by the Ireland that exists between the familiar and the half-imagined; windswept coastlines, rain-dark stone, overgrown hedgerows, forgotten cottages and old stories that drift through the landscape. Folklore, memory and tradition are gathered together and reimagined through contemporary, romantic silhouettes made for modern life.
The result is an almost alchemical meeting of old and new.
TRACES THAT REMAIN
We are not interested in recreating the past exactly as it was. Rather, we look for its traces; the details that linger, the rituals that remain and the stories that refuse to disappear, allowing them to find new form in clothing made for the present.
WOVEN TO LAST
Irish linen is central to our vision, not only for the richness of its legacy, but for the unique qualities that have allowed it to endure for generations. One of the most breathable natural fibres, it is remarkable for its strength and longevity, yet it evolves gracefully with time. It relaxes, softens and takes on the imprint of wear, becoming less untouched and, perhaps, more beautiful for having been lived in.
